Suns, Thunder Meet in Regular Season Finale OKLAHOMA CITY (Interstat) — The Phoenix Suns visit the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday at Paycom Center in the regular season finale for both teams, a matchup pitting a playoff-bound contender against a squad fighting to solidify its postseason positioning. The Thunder (64-17), who have already clinched the NBA’s best record, are looking to rebound from a rare stumble after a 127-107 road loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday. That defeat snapped a four-game winning streak. Rookie center Branden Carlson was a bright spot in the loss, posting 23 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in a season-high 37 minutes. Oklahoma City has dominated the season series against Phoenix, winning three of four meetings, including a 136-109 rout in Phoenix on Feb. 11. The Suns (44-36) arrive after a 112-107 home victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. They have alternated wins and losses over their last six games. Guard Devin Booker, the team’s engine, is coming off a 37-point, nine-assist performance against Dallas and has averaged 29.3 points over his last 10 contests. Phoenix will need Booker at his best to challenge the league’s top team on the road. Oklahoma City’s depth has been a hallmark of its historic season, with players like Carlson, guard Nikola Topic and forward Brooks Barnhizer contributing significantly in recent games. Phoenix, meanwhile, has relied heavily on Booker and supporting performances from players like forward Dillon Brooks and center Khaman Maluach. While the Thunder’s playoff seeding is secure, the Suns’ final Western Conference placement remains fluid, adding urgency to their final outing. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CDT Sunday.
