Preview: Bulls at Mavericks DALLAS (Interstat) — Two teams concluding difficult seasons will meet Sunday when the Chicago Bulls visit the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center. The Bulls (31-50) have lost eight of their last 10 games, including a 127-103 defeat to Orlando on Friday. The Mavericks (25-56) have dropped eight of their last 10 as well, falling 139-120 at San Antonio on Friday. Despite the teams’ positions near the bottom of the standings, the matchup features two of the league’s most dynamic young talents in a head-to-head showcase. Chicago guard Tre Jones enters on a scoring tear, averaging 21.4 points over his last 10 games. He is coming off a 23-point performance against the Magic and scored 31 in a win over Washington last week. His playmaking remains a constant, averaging 5.7 assists in that same stretch. For Dallas, rookie forward Cooper Flagg continues to be a nightly highlight. The No. 1 overall pick is averaging 28.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists over his last 10 contests. He erupted for 51 points against Orlando on April 3 and followed that with a 45-point, 9-assist effort in a win over the Lakers two days later. In the teams’ only previous meeting this season, the Bulls dominated the Mavericks 125-107 in Chicago on Jan. 10. The game will be the penultimate contest of the season for both clubs. Chicago will finish its schedule Monday at home against Detroit. Dallas concludes its season Tuesday at home against Houston. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CDT.
