Preview: Struggling Pacers, Kings Meet in Sacramento SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Interstat) — Two of the NBA’s lowest-ranked teams will seek a rare victory when the Indiana Pacers visit the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night at Golden 1 Center. The Pacers (15-48) and Kings (14-50) enter with the league’s worst and second-worst records, respectively. Both are mired in significant losing streaks, with Indiana having dropped nine of its last 10 games and Sacramento losing eight of its last 10. Indiana’s recent struggles continued with a 128-117 road loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Forward Pascal Siakam has been a consistent bright spot, averaging 28.8 points over his last four games. He scored 26 points in the loss to the Lakers and had 30 points in the teams’ previous meeting this season, a 116-105 Pacers win in Indianapolis on Dec. 8. Sacramento is coming off a 133-123 home loss to New Orleans on Thursday. Forward Precious Achiuwa delivered a standout performance in defeat, posting 29 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. He has been a focal point for the Kings, recording double-doubles in four of his last eight contests. The matchup features two of the league’s most porous defenses. The Pacers have allowed 130 or more points in five of their last six games, while the Kings have surrendered 120 or more in eight of their last 10. Beyond the individual efforts of Siakam and Achiuwa, Indiana will look for contributions from center Jay Huff, who had 16 points and six rebounds against the Lakers, and guard Andrew Nembhard, who dished out eight assists in that game. Sacramento will rely on veteran guard Russell Westbrook, who recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 assists against the Pelicans. Tuesday’s game represents one of the few remaining opportunities for either club to secure a win this season. The Kings will begin a three-game homestand, while the Pacers continue a difficult road stretch. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PDT.
