SALT LAKE CITY (Interstat) — The Golden State Warriors, clinging to postseason hopes, visit the struggling Utah Jazz on Monday night at Delta Center in a Western Conference matchup. The Warriors (32-30) enter on the heels of a dramatic 115-113 road win over Houston on Thursday, powered by a 26-point, nine-rebound effort from guard Brandin Podziemski. Golden State has won three of its last five but remains inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its past eight games. Podziemski has been a bright spot, averaging 17.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists over his last eight contests, including a 16-point, 15-rebound performance against New Orleans on Feb. 24. Utah (19-44) snapped a five-game skid with a 122-112 victory at Washington on Thursday. Rookie forward Kyle Filipowski posted 20 points and 14 rebounds in that win, part of a strong recent stretch where he has averaged 14.2 points and 8.9 rebounds over his last 10 games. The Jazz, however, have lost 12 of their last 15 and own the second-worst record in the conference. Golden State has dominated the season series, winning all three meetings by an average of 18.3 points. The most recent was a 140-124 Warriors victory in Salt Lake City on Jan. 28. The Warriors’ offense has overwhelmed Utah, scoring at least 123 points in each matchup. For Golden State, currently positioned just outside the play-in tournament bracket, this game represents a critical opportunity to bank a win against a lower-ranked opponent before a challenging six-game road trip continues. Utah, focused on player development, will look for Filipowski and rookie guard Isaiah Collier, who had 27 points and 11 assists against Washington, to provide resistance against the more experienced Warriors. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST. The Warriors return home to face Chicago on Tuesday, while the Jazz host the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
