Suns, Kings Meet in Sacramento Amid Diverging Seasons SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Interstat) — The Phoenix Suns, firmly in the Western Conference playoff chase, visit the struggling Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night at Golden 1 Center. The Suns (34-26) enter on the heels of a 113-110 home victory over the Los Angeles Lakers last Thursday. Guard Grayson Allen led the way with 28 points and six assists, continuing a strong scoring run. Over his last five games, Allen is averaging 22.8 points, including a 27-point performance in a double-overtime win against Orlando on Feb. 21. Phoenix has dominated the recent series, winning all three matchups this season by an average of 17.3 points. The most recent meeting was a 129-102 Suns victory in Phoenix on Jan. 2. Sacramento (14-47) snapped a three-game skid with a surprising 130-121 road win over Dallas last Thursday. Forward Precious Achiuwa powered the upset with a season-high 29 points and 13 rebounds. He has recorded three double-doubles in his last five appearances, though his production has been inconsistent during the Kings’ difficult season. The Kings’ defense remains a persistent issue, having allowed 120 or more points in eight of their last ten games. They rank near the bottom of the league in defensive rating. For Phoenix, maintaining focus against a team well outside the playoff picture is paramount as they navigate a critical stretch. Following this game, the Suns begin a challenging six-game road trip against Eastern Conference contenders Milwaukee and Indiana. The Kings, playing the second game of a brief two-game homestand, will look for a rare winning streak behind Achiuwa and recent standout Maxime Raynaud, who had 22 points against Dallas. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST. The Suns will host Chicago on Thursday, while the Kings will welcome New Orleans.
