Warriors Visit Pelicans in Tuesday Night NBA Matchup NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — The Golden State Warriors, riding a wave of momentum from a statement win, will face the struggling New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Center on Tuesday night. The Warriors (30-27) enter having snapped a three-game skid with a 128-117 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Guard Brandin Podziemski was instrumental in that win, falling just shy of a triple-double with 18 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists. Over his last 10 games, Podziemski is averaging 12.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists, providing vital all-around production for Golden State. They will face a Pelicans team (16-42) that has lost eight of its last 10 but is coming off a 126-111 home win over Philadelphia on Saturday. Forward Zion Williamson powered that victory with 21 points, six rebounds and eight assists. Williamson has been a consistent bright spot, averaging 21.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists over the same 10-game stretch. The season series favors Golden State, which has won both previous meetings. The Warriors earned a 124-106 road win on Nov. 16 and a 104-96 home victory on Nov. 29. Golden State’s recent form has been inconsistent, going 4-6 in its last 10 contests. Beyond Podziemski, the Warriors have relied on scoring from Moses Moody and veteran center Al Horford, who had 22 points and seven assists against Denver. New Orleans has struggled to find consistency, particularly on defense, allowing an average of 118.3 points in its last 10 games. The Pelicans will need a major defensive effort to contain a Warriors offense that just put up 128 points on a top-tier opponent. Tuesday’s game represents a critical opportunity for the Warriors to solidify their playoff positioning before a back-to-back in Memphis on Wednesday. For the Pelicans, it is a chance to build on their recent win and play spoiler against a team they have yet to beat this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
