Preview: Knicks Visit Bulls in Sunday Showdown CHICAGO (Interstat) — The surging New York Knicks look to rebound from a rare stumble when they visit the struggling Chicago Bulls at United Center on Sunday. New York (36-21) enters with the Eastern Conference’s third-best record but is coming off a surprising 126-111 home loss to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. The Knicks had won eight of their previous nine before that defeat. Chicago (24-32) has lost seven of its last eight games, including a 110-101 defeat to the Toronto Raptors on Thursday. The Bulls have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 122.6 points during that eight-game stretch. The season series is split 1-1. The Bulls won 135-125 at home on Oct. 31, 2025, before the Knicks answered with a 128-116 victory in New York on Nov. 2, 2025. A key matchup will feature New York’s All-Star guard Jalen Brunson against Chicago’s interior defense. Brunson is averaging 27.8 points and 7.3 assists over his last 10 games, including four performances of 31 points or more. He scored 33 points with eight assists in the loss to Detroit. For the Bulls, forward Jalen Smith has been a consistent presence, averaging a double-double of 12.7 points and 10.2 rebounds over his last six contests. He posted 13 points and 11 rebounds in a Jan. 28 loss to Indiana. The Knicks have been led by Brunson and center Karl-Anthony Towns, who had 21 points and 11 rebounds against Detroit. Chicago’s offense has relied on guard Anfernee Simons (20 points vs. Toronto) and forward Isaac Okoro (16 points vs. Toronto). New York’s recent success has been built on high-scoring offense, topping 130 points four times in February. Chicago has surpassed 115 points only twice in its last eight games. Following this contest, the Knicks begin a three-game road trip at Cleveland on Tuesday. The Bulls host the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday to open a brief two-game homestand. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST Sunday.
