Preview: Struggling Kings, Jazz Meet in Salt Lake City SALT LAKE CITY (Interstat) — Two of the Western Conference’s bottom dwellers will meet Wednesday when the Sacramento Kings visit the Utah Jazz at Delta Center. The Kings (12-43) arrive mired in a 10-game losing skid, their most recent a 120-94 road loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. Sacramento has lost 15 of its last 16 games overall. The Jazz (17-37) snapped a three-game slide with a 115-111 road win over the Miami Heat on Monday. Despite the teams’ poor records, the season series is split 1-1. The Jazz won the most recent meeting, 128-119, in Salt Lake City on Nov. 28, 2025. Sacramento took the first matchup, 105-104, at home on Oct. 24. A key matchup will feature young big men showing flashes of promise for struggling franchises. Sacramento’s Maxime Raynaud is coming off a career night, posting 21 points and 20 rebounds in 38 minutes against the Pelicans. The center is averaging 12.4 points and 9.1 rebounds over his last 10 games. For Utah, rookie forward Kyle Filipowski is coming off a double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) in the win over Miami. He has recorded three double-doubles in his last six appearances, including a 16-point, 16-rebound, 5-assist effort in a win over Indiana on Feb. 3. The Kings have been competitive lately despite the losses, with five of their last seven defeats coming by six points or fewer. However, their defense remains a glaring issue, allowing an average of 124.3 points during the 10-game losing streak. Utah’s defense has also struggled, ranking near the bottom of the league. Their win over Miami, however, showcased an improved effort, holding the Heat to 44% shooting. Following this game, the Jazz will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. The Kings do not play again until after the All-Star break, hosting the Orlando Magic on Feb. 19. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Wednesday.
