ORLANDO, Fla. (Interstat) — The Orlando Magic look to continue their momentum and solidify their playoff positioning when they host the struggling Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night at Kia Center. The Magic (27-24) enter on a two-game winning streak following a 120-117 victory over Utah on Saturday. They sit firmly in the Eastern Conference’s play-in tournament mix and have dominated the season series with Milwaukee, having routed the Bucks 111-92 just two days ago in the same building. Orlando is powered by All-Star forward Paolo Banchero, who is averaging 22.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He was instrumental in the recent win over the Bucks, posting 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Over his last 10 games, Banchero has scored 20 or more points eight times, including a 37-point, 10-rebound effort in a loss to Cleveland on Jan. 26. The Bucks (21-29), meanwhile, are trying to salvage a difficult season and build on a 105-99 home win over Indiana last Friday. That victory snapped a two-game skid but they remain eight games below .500 and outside the East’s top 10. Milwaukee will rely on guard Kevin Porter, who is coming off a strong performance against the Pacers with 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Over his last three games, Porter is averaging 20 points, 6.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists. His playmaking will be critical against Orlando’s top-10 defense. The Magic’s recent success has been fueled by balance. Alongside Banchero, guards Jalen Suggs and Anthony Black have provided key two-way contributions. In the Saturday win over Utah, Black scored 21 points while Suggs added 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. Milwaukee’s recent schedule has been brutal, and it doesn’t get easier. Following Wednesday’s contest, they embark on a road trip to Oklahoma City on Thursday. Orlando, after this game, begins a challenging four-game Western Conference road trip next week. The Bucks must find an answer for Orlando’s defensive intensity, which held them to 92 points on 39.8% shooting Monday. Containing Banchero’s multifaceted offensive game and generating easier baskets in transition will be paramount for the visitors to avoid a quick repeat defeat. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
