Preview: Jazz Visit Heat in Monday Night NBA Matchup MIAMI (Interstat) — The Miami Heat look to build on a dominant victory and solidify their playoff positioning when they host the struggling Utah Jazz on Monday night at FTX Arena. The Heat (28-26) are coming off a 132-101 road rout of the Washington Wizards on Sunday, a game in which rookie center Kel’el Ware shined with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Miami sits in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff picture and has won three of its last five. Utah (16-37) arrives on the second night of a back-to-back after a narrow 120-117 loss in Orlando on Saturday. The Jazz have lost seven of their last nine games and own one of the worst records in the NBA. All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen remains a bright spot for Utah, averaging 24.4 points over his last seven games. He scored 27 points with seven rebounds in the loss to Orlando. Rookie guard Isaiah Collier added 20 points and 10 assists in that contest. For Miami, Ware’s recent emergence provides a boost. The first-year big man is coming off his best performance, a double-double against Washington, but his playing time has fluctuated. Veteran center Bam Adebayo, who had 22 points and eight rebounds Sunday, remains the focal point. The teams met just over two weeks ago in Salt Lake City, with Miami delivering a 147-116 blowout victory on Jan. 24. The Heat shot 58.8% from the field in that game. Miami will need to manage potential fatigue, playing its second game in two nights. Utah continues a six-game road trip, seeking to improve a 6-22 record away from home. Following this game, the Heat begin a two-game trip Wednesday in New Orleans. The Jazz return home to host Sacramento on Wednesday.
