Preview of NBA Game: Cleveland Cavaliers at Denver Nuggets DENVER (Interstat) — Two of the NBA’s top teams in the Western and Eastern Conferences will clash Monday night when the Denver Nuggets host the Cleveland Cavaliers at Ball Arena. The matchup features a compelling rematch from just over a month ago, when the Cavaliers (32-21) edged the Nuggets (34-19) 113-108 in Cleveland on Jan. 2. Both teams enter on a high note following offensive explosions in their most recent outings. Cleveland arrives riding a wave of momentum, having won seven of its last eight games. The Cavaliers are coming off a 132-126 road victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. Jarrett Allen, a central figure for Cleveland, is playing at an elite level. The center is averaging 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds over his last 10 games, including a 40-point, 17-rebound, five-assist, four-block masterpiece in a win over Portland on Feb. 1. In the January win over Denver, Allen posted 16 points and five rebounds. The Nuggets snapped a three-game skid with a dominant 136-120 win in Chicago on Saturday, fueled by another historic triple-double from two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. The center recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds and 17 assists in the victory. Over his last five games, Jokic is averaging 24.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 10.8 assists. His duel with Allen in the paint will be a pivotal battle. Denver has been strong at home with a 20-7 record at Ball Arena this season, while Cleveland has proven capable on the road at 15-11. The Cavaliers’ recent surge has been marked by high-scoring performances, topping 120 points in five of their last eight games. Beyond the marquee big-man matchup, guard play will be critical. Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell is averaging 27.8 points per game this season and scored 35 against Sacramento. Denver’s Jamal Murray, who had 28 points and 11 assists in Chicago, provides the backcourt counterpunch. The game is the only scheduled meeting between the teams in Denver this regular season. Following this contest, both teams face a challenging stretch before the All-Star break, with Denver hosting Memphis on Wednesday and Cleveland welcoming Washington.
