Preview: Clippers at Jazz SALT LAKE CITY (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Clippers, riding a recent surge, will visit the struggling Utah Jazz at Delta Center on Tuesday night in a Western Conference matchup. The Clippers (20-24) have won seven of their last 10 games, including a 112-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in their most recent outing on Jan. 22. Center Ivica Zubac has been a dominant force during this stretch, recording nine double-doubles in his last 11 games. He is coming off a 19-rebound, 18-point performance against the Lakers. He will be matched against Utah’s Jusuf Nurkic, who has posted a triple-double in two of his last three games, including a 17-point, 10-rebound, 12-assist effort in a loss to Miami on Jan. 24. Despite Nurkic’s playmaking, the Jazz (15-31) have lost eight of their last 10 and own one of the league’s worst records. Their defense has been a persistent issue, allowing an average of 129.3 points over their last three games, all losses. The season series is split 1-1. The Jazz won the first meeting 129-108 in Salt Lake City on Oct. 22, but the Clippers responded with a 118-101 home victory on Jan. 1. For Los Angeles, success hinges on its veteran core complementing Zubac’s interior presence. In the win over the Lakers, Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points and James Harden added a near triple-double with 18 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. The Clippers will need similar balance to navigate a tough road environment. Utah, led by rookie guard Isaiah Collier and forward Brice Sensabaugh, seeks to leverage its home court to snap a three-game skid. Their porous defense, however, faces a Clippers team averaging 114.2 points per game. Tuesday’s contest opens a two-game road trip for the Clippers, who visit Denver on Friday. The Jazz host Golden State on Wednesday to continue a four-game homestand.
