Preview: Nuggets, Grizzlies Set for Sunday Showdown MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Interstat) — The surging Denver Nuggets, led by a breakout star, will face a Memphis Grizzlies team seeking consistency when the teams meet Sunday at FedExForum. The Nuggets (30-15) enter on a strong run, having won seven of their last 10 games. They are coming off a 107-97 road victory over Washington on Thursday. The focal point has been guard Peyton Watson, who erupted for 35 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in that win. Over his last 10 games, Watson is averaging 24.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists, emerging as a primary offensive threat alongside Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Denver previously defeated Memphis 125-115 on Nov. 24. The Grizzlies (18-24) look to rebound from a narrow 124-122 home loss to Atlanta on Wednesday. Star guard Ja Morant paced Memphis in that defeat with 23 points and 12 assists. Morant has been a high-volume playmaker, averaging 24.8 points and 10.0 assists over his last five contests. Support from Jaren Jackson Jr. and others will be critical against a deep Denver lineup. Memphis has struggled to find a rhythm, going 4-6 in its last 10 games. The team’s defense, allowing an average of 118.3 points over that stretch, will be tested by a Nuggets offense averaging 113.2 points for the season. The game features a stark contrast in the standings, with Denver positioned among the Western Conference’s elite and Memphis fighting to climb into play-in contention. Watson’s explosive scoring against Morant’s dynamic facilitation will be a key matchup to watch. Following this game, Denver returns home to host Detroit on Tuesday. Memphis begins a road trip in Houston on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026.
