Preview: Bulls, Cavaliers Meet in Cleveland on Friday CLEVELAND (Interstat) β The Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers will meet for the third time this season Friday night at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, with the Cavaliers looking to build on their winning record and the Bulls seeking to halt a recent slide. The Cavaliers (15-12) enter as the home favorite, having won two of their last three games. They are coming off a 119-111 home loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, despite a strong performance from guard Darius Garland, who scored 26 points and dished nine assists. Garland has been a consistent force, averaging 18.1 points and 7.4 assists over his last eight games. The Bulls (10-15) have lost four of their last five, including a 114-104 defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. Guard Coby White led Chicago in that loss with 20 points, five rebounds and five assists. White has been a bright spot, scoring 20 or more points in five of his last seven contests. The season series is tied 1-1, with each team winning on the otherβs home floor. The Cavaliers edged the Bulls 128-122 in Cleveland on Nov. 8. In a bizarre, low-scoring affair just two days ago, the Bulls narrowly defeated the Cavaliers 50-49 in Chicago. Cleveland holds a significant advantage in the standings and will rely on its backcourt of Garland and Donovan Mitchell to exploit a Bulls defense that has allowed an average of 117.2 points over its last 10 games. Chicago, meanwhile, will need White and forward DeMar DeRozan to provide efficient scoring to keep pace. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. EST Friday. For Cleveland, it begins a three-game homestand before a Christmas Day matchup in New York. Chicago continues a four-game road trip with a visit to Atlanta on Sunday.
