Preview: Mavericks-Jazz Features Stars Davis, George in Western Conference Matchup SALT LAKE CITY (Interstat) — Two Western Conference teams seeking momentum will meet Monday when the Dallas Mavericks visit the Utah Jazz at Delta Center. The Mavericks (10-16) arrive after a 119-111 home victory over Brooklyn on Friday. The Jazz (9-15) are coming off a 130-126 road win in Memphis the same night. Both clubs sit near the bottom of the conference standings early in the season. A key matchup will feature Dallas forward Anthony Davis against Utah guard Keyonte George. Davis is averaging 22.3 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists over his last six games. He posted 24 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks in the win over the Nets. George is in the midst of a breakout stretch, averaging 26.8 points and 7.0 assists over his last eight contests. He erupted for a season-high 39 points, six rebounds and eight assists in Utah’s victory over Memphis. Dallas has won three of its last five games, including a 122-109 decision over Houston and a 118-108 win against Miami. Utah’s recent results have been volatile, with a 30-point loss to Oklahoma City on Dec. 7 sandwiched around high-scoring wins over Brooklyn and Memphis. In their last meeting, the teams split a two-game series in March 2025. The Jazz won 127-115 in Dallas on March 10, while the Mavericks took a 113-97 decision in Salt Lake City on March 12. Following Monday’s game, Dallas begins a three-game homestand Thursday against Detroit. Utah continues a brief two-game homestand Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
