That result snapped a three-game losing streak for Chicago and extended New Orleans’ misery, despite the Pelicans’ 143-130 home win over the Bulls on Nov. 24. New Orleans, owners of the league’s worst record, is coming off a 143-120 home win over Portland on Thursday. Forward Trey Murphy has been a consistent bright spot, averaging 24.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists over his last 10 games. He scored 20 points in the November win over Chicago. The Bulls, led by guard Josh Giddey’s recent triple-double prowess, are seeking consistency. Giddey is averaging 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.1 assists over his last 10 contests. He posted 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the November loss in New Orleans. Chicago is 1-1 to start a six-game homestand after a 129-126 road win in Charlotte on Friday. Defense will be a focal point. Both teams rank near the bottom of the league in defensive rating, and their November meeting saw 273 combined points. The Pelicans have allowed an average of 127.5 points in their last 10 games, while the Bulls have surrendered 119.8 per game in that span. For New Orleans, Murphy will be supported by guard Bryce McGowens and center Derik Queen, who combined for 40 points in the win over Portland.
