OKLAHOMA CITY (Interstat) — The NBA’s most dominant team looks to continue its historic start when the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night at Paycom Center. The Thunder (23-1) have won 12 consecutive games and own the league’s best record by a wide margin. Their .958 winning percentage through 24 games puts them on a record-setting pace. They have not lost since Nov. 14. The Suns (13-10) arrive struggling for consistency, having lost three of their last four games, including a 117-98 defeat in Houston last Friday. This is a rematch of a thrilling contest from Nov. 28, which Oklahoma City won 123-119. In that game, the Thunder’s Chet Holmgren scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Phoenix’s Dillon Brooks countered with 19 points. Brooks has been a bright spot for Phoenix, averaging 23.7 points over his last 10 games. He is coming off a 23-point performance against the Rockets and scored 33 in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 1. His scoring surge will be essential for a Suns offense that has been held under 100 points twice in its last seven outings. Holmgren remains a central figure for the Thunder’s elite two-way play. The center is averaging 17.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game while operating with remarkable efficiency. In just 23 minutes during Sunday’s 131-101 rout of Utah, he posted 25 points and nine rebounds. Oklahoma City’s offense leads the league in scoring at 124.5 points per game and ranks first in net rating. The Thunder have been installed as heavy 15.5-point favorites by FanDuel Sportsbook, with the over/under set at 224.5 points. Oklahoma City has covered large spreads routinely during its streak, winning by an average of 19.2 points during the 12-game run. Phoenix begins a difficult stretch, with seven of its next eight games on the road after Wednesday. Oklahoma City continues a five-game homestand before a showdown at Minnesota on Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
