Warriors, Bulls Seek Momentum in Sunday Showdown CHICAGO (Interstat) — Two teams looking to steady their seasons will meet Sunday when the Golden State Warriors visit the Chicago Bulls at United Center. The Warriors (11-12) arrive after a gut-wrenching 99-98 loss at Philadelphia on Thursday, their second straight defeat. Golden State guard Buddy Hield, a player to watch, is coming off a solid all-around performance with 14 points and eight rebounds in that contest. Over his last five games, Hield is averaging 13.2 points and 4.2 rebounds. Chicago (9-13) has lost five consecutive games, most recently a 120-105 home defeat to Indiana on Friday. Rookie forward Matas Buzelis has been a bright spot during the skid, posting a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds against the Pacers. Over the last five games, Buzelis is averaging 15.2 points and 7.6 rebounds. Both teams have struggled for consistency. The Warriors are 3-4 in their last seven games, while the Bulls’ last victory came on Nov. 22 against Washington. Defense has been a common issue; Golden State has allowed an average of 117.1 points over its last 10 games, and Chicago has surrendered 123.2 points per game during its five-game losing streak. The matchup features contrasting styles. The Warriors, led by Hield and guard Pat Spencer (16 points Thursday), rely on perimeter scoring and pace. The Bulls, anchored by Buzelis and guard Coby White (22 points, six assists Friday), have shown an ability to score inside but have been plagued by defensive lapses. History offers little comfort for the Bulls, who have found wins hard to come by at United Center this season. The Warriors will look to capitalize as they begin a brief two-game trip before returning home. Sunday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. CST and will be broadcast on local regional sports networks. For Golden State, it’s the start of a stretch with five of their next six on the road. Chicago begins a slightly more favorable portion of its schedule, with four of its next five games at home following this contest.
