Preview: Pelicans at Nets BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two of the NBA’s struggling teams will meet Saturday when the Brooklyn Nets host the New Orleans Pelicans at Barclays Center. The Pelicans (3-19) arrive with the league’s worst record and on a five-game losing skid. Their most recent outing was a 149-142 shootout loss to Minnesota on Tuesday, despite a 33-point, 15-rebound performance from forward Trey Murphy. New Orleans has lost 10 of its last 11 games. The Nets (5-16) have fared only slightly better but are coming off one of their best wins of the season, a 113-103 road victory over Chicago on Wednesday. Forward Michael Porter Jr. led the way with 33 points and 10 rebounds. Both clubs rank near the bottom of the league in defensive rating, suggesting a high-scoring affair is possible. The Pelicans have allowed an average of 128.5 points during their current losing streak. For New Orleans, Murphy, center Derik Queen and guard Saddiq Bey have provided consistent offense amidst the losses. Brooklyn will counter with Porter and center Nicolas Claxton, who nearly posted a triple-double with 14 points, eight rebounds and nine assists against the Bulls. This is the first of two scheduled meetings this season between the teams. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.
