HOUSTON (Interstat) — The Houston Rockets will look to solidify their strong start and complete a regular-season sweep when they host the Phoenix Suns on Friday night at Toyota Center. The Rockets (14-5) boast one of the league’s best records and are coming off a dominant 121-95 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. Alperen Sengun led the way with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Amen Thompson added 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Forward Kevin Durant contributed 24 points and eight assists against his former team. Houston handily won the first meeting between the teams this season, defeating the Suns 114-92 in Phoenix on Nov. 24. The Suns (13-9) arrive in Houston after a convincing 125-108 road win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. Collin Gillespie scored 28 points and Dillon Brooks added a season-high 33 points in the victory, which snapped a two-game skid for Phoenix. Friday’s contest features a notable storyline with Durant facing the Suns, the team he played for from 2023-2025. The Rockets have won seven of their last eight games, while the Suns have alternated wins and losses over their past five. Following this game, Houston will visit the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. Phoenix continues a road trip at Minnesota on Monday.
