TORONTO (Interstat) — Two of the NBA’s top teams meet Thursday when the Los Angeles Lakers visit the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena. The Lakers (15-5) arrive leading the Western Conference but are looking to rebound from a 125-108 home loss to the Phoenix Suns on Monday. Despite the defeat, guard Luka Doncic posted 38 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Los Angeles had won four straight prior to that, averaging 133 points per game in those victories. The Raptors (14-7), sitting near the top of the Eastern Conference, are also coming off a loss, falling 116-94 to the New York Knicks on Sunday. Forward Scottie Barnes leads a balanced attack, scoring 18 points in that contest. This interconference matchup pits strong offensive forces. The Lakers have frequently surpassed 120 points this season, while Toronto has shown similar firepower, including a 140-point performance against Washington on Nov. 21. The game begins a challenging two-game road trip for Los Angeles, which plays at Boston on Friday. Toronto continues a home stretch, hosting Charlotte on Friday. Game time is 7:30 p.m. EST Thursday at Scotiabank Arena.
