DALLAS (Interstat) — The Miami Heat look to continue their strong start when they visit the struggling Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night at American Airlines Center. Miami (14-7) enters on a high note after a 140-123 home victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. Bam Adebayo led the way with 27 points and 14 rebounds, supported by 30 points from Norman Powell and 22 points from Andrew Wiggins. The Heat have won three of their last four. Dallas (7-15) is coming off a 131-121 road win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday, led by Anthony Davis’ 32 points and 13 rebounds. The victory snapped a two-game skid for the Mavericks. The teams met recently in Miami, with the Heat securing a 106-102 win on Nov. 24. Miami has won four of its last five games overall, while Dallas has lost eight of its last 11. The Heat’s efficient offense, which has scored at least 127 points in four of its last six games, will test a Dallas defense that ranks near the bottom of the league. The Mavericks will rely on Davis and rookie Cooper Flagg to counter Miami’s balanced attack. Following this game, Miami begins a two-game Florida trip against Orlando on Friday. Dallas starts a back-to-back set at Oklahoma City on Friday.
