Minnesota took two of three from the Guardians earlier this week and has won six of its last nine overall. The Angels (37-57) are coming off a 7-6 loss at Texas on Thursday, their eighth defeat in their last 10 games. Los Angeles lost Friday’s series opener in Minneapolis, 1-0, managing just three hits while striking out 10 times. Right-hander Bailey Ober is scheduled to start for Minnesota. Ober allowed one earned run on three hits over five innings with five strikeouts in a 5-2 loss to Cleveland on Thursday. He has a 3.92 ERA this season. Infielder Royce Lewis went 2 for 4 with a home run and an RBI in that game and is batting .278 with 12 homers. First baseman Nolan Schanuel is a player to watch for the Angels. He went 4 for 4 with two RBIs in Thursday’s loss at Texas. In his last 10 games, Schanuel has five multi-hit performances and is batting .350 over that span. Los Angeles has lost nine of its last 11 road games. The Angels have scored two runs or fewer in five of their last seven contests. Minnesota leads the season series 1-0 after Friday’s shutout.
