Atlanta’s Reynaldo López is a player to watch. The right-handed reliever has not allowed an earned run in seven of his last eight appearances. Over that span, he has tossed 12 1/3 innings, surrendering just four hits and striking out 11. His lone rough outing came June 4 against Toronto, when he allowed four earned runs in one inning. Hart has been effective in recent outings for San Diego (39-37). Over his last four appearances, the lefty has pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings, yielding just one hit while striking out five. He has not allowed an earned run since May 28. The teams played Monday’s series opener to a scoreless tie before it was postponed. The Braves dropped the finale of a three-game series against Milwaukee on Sunday, losing 9-4 at Truist Park. First baseman Rowdy Tellez homered and drove in two runs, while left fielder Mauricio Dubón went 3 for 4. Reynaldo López pitched three scoreless innings of relief in the loss. San Diego lost the finale of its three-game series at Texas on Sunday, falling 4-3. The Padres’ bullpen turned in a strong performance, with Hart, Wandy Peralta and Ron Marinaccio each tossing a scoreless inning. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-3 Padres win. Following Tuesday’s game, the Braves continue a six-game road trip with three games at San Francisco starting Friday. The Padres return home to host the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game series beginning Friday.
